Music at Grace United

The purpose of chimes and choir at Grace is to provide a welcoming space to feel the love of music. It is a place to meet new people and forge lasting friendships.

The spirit and love of God is all around us. As musicians, we allow this love to move through us and become visible and audible in an earthly way. 

Chimes, choir, soloists and small groups provide the Gift of Music each Sunday. This Gift of Music is a time for the congregation to enjoy something special and moving.

Grace United Church chimes and choir welcome you to join us. Youth and adults of all ages are welcome. We range in abilities from singing along when we know the tune to well-trained musicians. Our fabulous accompanist, Yuki Okumoto Stocovaz, always helps us sound great!

We ask for a commitment to attend rehearsals and Sunday services. The choir has summers and the third Sunday of each month off. We rehearse three Thursdays a month. Chimes are 6:30 – 7:30, and choir is 7:30 – 8:00. It is free to join.

As well as singing hymns we all know and love, we enjoy diving into circle singing, chamber music, and folk music. During the Christmas season, we participate in a number of carol-singing events and provide music for the Christmas Eve service.
